Individualized, Highly-Effective Behavioral Intervention Plans
Behavior issues are common in children with autism, and you’re not alone in your struggles to understand how to address them. We work to determine the function of problem behaviors and to develop behavior interventions plans. Such behaviors may include but are not limited to:
- Aggressive or self-injurious behaviors
- Communication Difficulties
- Repetitive Behaviors
- Social Challenges
- Tantrums
At The Shafer Center for Early Intervention, on site observation, functional behavior assessments or functional analysis, and daily data will be used to document performance and to develop an individualized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) for your child. We can consult with you and work with your child at The Shafer Center, or at a location that is convenient for you and your family. As we continue to work with your child, his/her program will be revised as needed to ensure continued positive progress and promote appropriate behaviors regardless of environment or setting.
Our Behavior Consultants can offer global assistance, plus on-the-spot guidance when issues occur. In addition, our team works closely with you as a parent or your child’s school, to monitor and adapt the current BIP as your child makes progress.
